Makin’ babies

On Monday night, I made these. Do you like them?

Yum.

OK. Technically, they are fetuses, but I just wanted to say “Makin’ babies” in the title of the post.

I made more fetus cookies than just these two guys. Even made conjoined twins! These things turned out pretty massive. Big fetuses. Big tasty fetuses. I’ve got a lot of ideas for decorations, but for this first, uh, litter I kept it simple.

Speaking of litters, I have exciting news!

Meet Tequila.

This little lady had a worm in her neck, so the folks at the shelter named her “Tequila.” The diluted tortie is now worm-free and living it up with Colonel Mustard, Mister and Missus. YAY!

Translation of the gibberish above: Here are some photos of the antiques booth Ainslie and I have put together in the last couple weeks at the Olde Engine Works in Stroudsburg, Pa.

We have more goodies to add, but it’s starting to come together. If you haven’t been to the Olde Engine Works, you should check it out. And I’m not saying that just because of our boof. One can easily spend an afternoon there finding lots of treasures! More than 125 dealers. Woot!

Meet the headless Infant of Prague. Headless and armless, that is.

This week’s weird is brought to you by Joe and Sarah, my pals who found this thing left behind on a bench in Rhode Island. (I hope I’m getting this story right. If not, I hope you two will comment to correct me. Feel free to embellish. It’s more fun that way.)

I’ve got so many questions. Why are Jesus’ head and arms missing? Where are they? Why was the rest of him discarded on a bench?

Eastern Shore Treasury

I finally made a Treasury on Etsy! I’d always wanted to but never bothered.

Well, inspiration struck at 4 a.m. the other morning. When I saw this pendant by CameraSHYphotography, I found my theme: The Eastern Shore.

I grew up on the Shore, also known as the Delmarva Peninsula. Let me know what you think of the Treasury! Clicky-clicky to see it.

Can you tell I'm excited?

It’s official.

Ainslie and I are starting up an antiques booth. More pictures to come (soon) when it’s all set up at the Olde Engine Works in Stroudsburg, Pa. That’s a peek at the booth up there. (Not our stuff — consignment items that are going to be moved.) For now, we are plugging along with price tags and the inventory list. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFF!

In other exciting news, there is a fetus cookie cutter on its way to me! I can’t wait to give birth to a bazillion inappropriately-shaped treats! Huzzah!

Did a bit of antiquing Sunday and what did I find …

A bipolar salt-and-pepper shaker couple. On one side, they’re happy. On the other, they’re not pleased one bit. So manic depressive. How cute …

Here’s more of an idea for you. Wish I could have gotten better photos, but there was some lurking shopper nearby so I snapped these quickly for the “Weird Crap” blog feature. Woo!

It’s Monday and it’s time to get weird up in here!

Two of my friends’ art is currently on display in Stroudsburg, Pa., at Vintage Karma, and this Ryan R. piece definitely falls under the category of weird (and awesome):

He found old photos under a loose floorboard in his apartment and altered them. When I saw this one, I laughed out loud — and then I bought it!

Sobi also rocks out with a special brand of awesome weird:

He draws characters on sugar and sweetener packets! LOVE it! I also snatched up one of his pieces this weekend.

A day at Cindy’s house

The other week, I got to spend time at my friend Cindy’s house. A day of homemade pesto sauce, garden fresh tomatoes and silly board games.

And lots of visiting with her critters … Yay!

Zuben the kitten is quite the gentleman. Shy and cute.

MUCH bigger kitties live at Cindy’s home, too. She and her husband have two bobcats, Audrey and Trifid, who are educational critters. (Boy Scouts visit them and learn about wildlife and such.)

Hello there, Trifid. I think my hair matches your fur quite nicely.
